Tristan Lawson
Experience: My primary work is in upstream bioprocessing for cell therapies. Mammalian cell culture (including iPSCs, MSCs, satellite cells, T cells, viral producer cell lines), microcarrier-based expansion, single-use bioreactor technology, downstream cell processing, and xeno-free/chemically defined media development.
Credentials: Sigilon Therapeutics High-Performance Future Leader Award, co-author on four publications.
Key Biotechnology: FBS/BSA-free growth media for pluripotent and multipotent cells. Innovations such as E8 and Beefy-9 media which leverage recombinant proteins and exclude animal-derived components greatly support the development of cruelty-free lab-grown meat.
Differentiators: After lab work, I enjoy scale-up with my gardening pastime. I've managed to grow at least 100 lbs. of sweet potatoes from two small beds yearly. Between family and friends, none of it goes to waste.
